Doris Hugelmeyer

04/13/1935 – 07/31/2020

Born in Brooklyn, Doris graduated from Hartwick College (NY) and became an RN. She worked in hospitals, home health care and in the local school district as a school nurse for 23 years before retiring. Doris raised six daughters and was a proud grandma to 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She loved her family, loved traveling (she was always up for a new adventure!), and loved to keep her mind sharp by doing crossword puzzles, soduku, word jumbles and just about any other word games she could find. She belonged to every club you could think of! She had a servant’s heart and was a lifelong volunteer at the Election Board, one of the local theaters, the Arboretum and the local public library. Doris was very proud of becoming a member of the Catholic Church in 2014, and took on the role of Treasurer for the Catholic Daughters of America. After raising her daughters in the faith, she finally found a home for herself in the Catholic Church. She is missed every day by her family and friends.

Remembered by Elaine Phillips ( Daughter) in Formation and Discipleship
